Food & Drink

The New inn has a reputation for real ales, and has been the Brecknockshire CAMRA winner of pub of the year for the last 4 years. Neil takes pride in his cellar and ensures that all our real ales are in tip top condition. We stock ales from the area such as Grey Trees (Aberdare) and Glamorgan as well as from further afield (Salopian, Bristol beer factory, Arbor and Oakham.

As well as ales we stock traditional cider, made only a few doors away from the pub here in Bwlch. If you are a gin enthusiast we are sure to have one to suit you in our ever expanding selection. Our wines are selected for us by Tanners of Shrewsbury, wine merchants since 1842, ensuring quality at a reasonable price.

We have a small but comprehensive menu of pub food including our Famous Black beef pie, packed with meat from locally bred Welsh Black cattle braised in Welsh ale and topped with shortcrust pastry. We also use Bwlch venison farmed here in the village in a range of dishes.

Meat eaters are well catered for but we take as much care and effort over our vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Our aim is to create dishes that are meat free but not flavour free, our vegetarian options change regularly and can be adapted to suit your dietary requirements.
