Join one of our staff on a casual walk anywhere in the national park free of charge (contact the hostel for more info)
Due to our central location in the national park there are many walks with abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery, in the immediate area and further afield suitable for the novice walker, more experienced walker, mountaineer or climber .
There is a circular walk that starts right outside the hostel taking you around the largest lake in south Wales with substantial peaks with little ascent making it more accessible to children, elderly or novice walkers. However it can be extended for people who would like more of a challenge.
On the walk you may well see wild horses roaming free and enjoy stunning views of the lake and all over the black mountains for miles around and learn about Llangorse lake’s own eco system and wild life.
There are many varieties of fish, birds, plants and beautiful blue dragonflys or just enjoy the tranquillity of the lake while having a lunch break (Packed lunches available at hostel). More information on the lake can be found here.
Our staff are passionate about the outdoors so whether you are looking to go ice climbing or canoeing we will be happy to help.
